Mobile optimised sites are sometimes called “responsive” because the web site detects and responds to the screen size the viewer is using to present a more suitable layout. Not everyone needs mobile compatibility but if your type of business is likely to be searched for by people on the move or if, for example, your target audience is young adults then you definitely need a responsive site. If, however, your business is most likely to be searched for by people sitting at a desk using a computer or laptop, then you may not need it.
Examples of “must be mobile” sites are, anything aimed at younger people, restaurants, car and breakdown repairs, taxis, high street shops & businesses, takeaways, pubs, bars & nightclubs…
As more and more people primarily access the internet and surf the web on mobile devices – even at home, It is becoming increasingly difficult to make a list of businesses that won't benefit from being mobile optimised.
